Available Roles

All Roles are available EXCEPT the role of Steve.

Joe:  late 30’s to late 40’s……husband and father.  Blue collar worker, a little bit clumsy with moving and talking, but full of energy.

Maggie:  late 30’s to late 40’s…Joe’s wife.  Easily excitable.  The family organizer.

Brian: late 30’s- mid 40’s.  English professor and frustrated writer; simple, direct, straightforward.

Mark:  late 20’s- early 30’s.  Brian’s young lover; former hustler; serious, appears to be overly protective.

Beverly: mid 30’s.  Brian’s ex-wife.  A world traveler, an adventurer, and a bit of a drunk

Felicity: 60’s-80’s. surprisingly feisty, if not somewhat senile, and openly hostile.

Agnes:  late 30’s-mid 40’s. Felicity’s daughter; very neat, very tense, very tired.

Interviewer:  The Interviewer never reveals him or herself to the audience.

The play revolves around a trio of terminally ill patients, each of whom lives in a separate cottage at a hospice. Each person is surrounded by loved ones. All are trying to face and make sense of death…and life.  Winner of the 1977 Tony Award for Best Play, and the 1977 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. 

THE SHADOW BOX will be performed on February 19-March 7, 2010
