Bug by Tracy Letts February 12 - 21, 2010 Directed by Joseph Hammond |
Set in a seedy Oklahoma City motel room, “BUG” tells about alienated cocktail waitress Agnes, her violent ex-con ex-husband Jerry Goss whom she is hiding from, and her lesbian biker friend R.C. who introduces her to possible AWOL Gulf War veteran) Peter. Agnes gets involved with Peter, who begins to rant about the war in Iraq, UFOs, the Oklahoma City bombing, cult suicides, and secret government experiment on soldiers. On top of that, there’s a hidden bug infestation problem that has both Agnes and Peter dealing with welts and festering sores….which Peter believes is the result of experiments conducted on him at a VA hospital.
The New York Times calls “BUG” “…obscenely exciting…top-flight craftsmanship.” Associated Press hailed “BUG” as “…a thoroughly outrageous and thoroughly entertaining lay…the possibility of enemies, real and imagined, to squash has never been more theatrical.”
