LVLT”s children’s program is lead by seasoned theatre professional, Jessica Gaylor. Jessica’s passion for theatre started at a young age when she had the privilege of sharing the stage with a young group of performers called “The 26th Street Singers.” It is there that she met the teacher that would change her life.
After leaving her high school music theatre program, Jessica attended Ball State University where she majored in Musical Theatre and minored in Performance Studies (adapting poetry/prose and fiction for the stage).
Soon after college, she launched into her first professional theatre job with The Missoula Children’s Theatre where she toured with “The Wizard of Oz” and “The Wiz of the West.” In that one year she had the opportunity to teach and act with over 7,000 children internationally.
Jessica went on to tour with other companies like: Gold Books in “On the Road to Reading” and Sesame Street Live’s “Everyone Makes Music.” Some of her other show credits include: Into the Woods, Eleemosynary, Sweet Charity, Damn Yankees, Tough Guy Detective Story, Annie, Pericles and A Chorus Line.
Ms. Gaylor’s professional experience and true love for the theatre have brought her a bright and welcomed future as a teaching artist in the Las Vegas area. She is ecstatic to be able to pass on her passion for the performing arts to other children in the Valley.
Ms. Gaylor is a member of the LVLT Board of Directors.
