LVLT announces open auditions for "Lombardi" by Erin Simonson

Audition Dates: In-person auditions will take place on Monday, November 7 & Tuesday, November 8 at 6pm.

Possible Callbacks will be on Saturday, November 12.

Location: Las Vegas Little Theatre 3920 Schiff Dr. Las Vegas, NV, 89103

​

Performance Dates: January 20 - February 5, 2023 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, and one Saturday Matinee on January 28th at 2pm.

Show Description: Sports produces great human drama and there is no greater sports icon to bring to theatrical life than Hall of Fame football coach Vince Lombardi - unquestionably one of the most inspirational and quotable personalities of all time.  But before the triumphs and honors of football’s Super Bowl trophy being named for him, few know the real story of Lombardi the man—his inspirations, his passions and ability to drive people to achieve what they never thought possible.

All roles are available. See character descriptions below:

​

• Vince Lombardi - inspirational coach who led the Green Bay Packers to 5 NFL championships & 2 Super Bowls & became a legendary figure in football history. Difficult coach, husband, and father who attended daily mass.

• Marie Lombardi - strong & sometimes conflicted wife of Vince Lombardi and mother to their two children who often kept her husband grounded. The only person who could really challenge Lombardi.

• Michael McCormick - young, enthusiastic reporter on his first major assignment for Look Magazine. Son of a domineering father who was also a writer.

• Paul Hornung - “The Golden Boy.” Lombardi’s versatile running back who was often injured and got into off-field troubles. A vital piece of the Power Sweep and half of the “Thunder & Lighting“ pair with Jim Taylor.

• Dave Robinson - Packers’ powerful African­-American outside linebacker and team representative for the Players’ Association.

• Jim Taylor - Packers’ soft spoken, dominant fullback with a knack for making hits and taking injuries in stride. Half of the “Thunder & Lighting” pair. Very business conscious professional athlete.
