Audition Dates: In-person auditions will take place on Monday, Jan 6 and Tuesday, Jan 7, 2025 at 6:30pm

​

Location: Las Vegas Little Theatre 3920 Schiff Dr. Las Vegas, NV, 89103

​

Performance Dates: March 7 - 23, 2025 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm, and Saturday Matinees on March 15 & 22 at 2pm. Rehearsals begin immediately and are held in the evenings on weekdays and some weekend afternoons.

​

Show Description: The small-town charm of Chinquapin County serves as the backdrop for a touching tale of friendship, love, and resilience. Set in Truvy's beauty salon, a group of Southern women confront life's highs and lows with grace and humor. As they bond over hairdos and heartaches, their enduring sisterhood weathers storms both literal and figurative. With poignant moments and witty repartee, Steel Magnolias showcases the strength and beauty of female friendship in the face of life's challenges.

Character Descriptions:

​

Truvy Jones Owner of the beauty shop. She is vivacious and wise beyond her years. She has a heart of gold but has been dealt some hard knocks. She offers advice with lots of hairspray and teasing.

​​

Annelle Dupuy‐Desoto The newly hired assistant at the beauty shop. She is unsure and timid at the beginning of the play. Throughout the story she goes from timid to wild to very religious.

​​

Clairee Belcher Widow of former mayor. Grand dame. Elegant, sophisticated, intelligent, and very witty.

​​

Shelby Eatenton‐Latcherie M’Lynn’s daughter. She is strong-willed, pretty, and passionate. She loves her mother but is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with her or any of the older women in the show.

​​

M’Lynn Eatenton Shelby’s mother. M’Lynn is practical, intelligent, and loving. She is passionate and stubborn about her daughter. She is the heart of the story.

​​

Ouiser (pronounced Weezer) Boudreaux She is a wealthy curmudgeon and southern to the core. Ouiser is eccentric and quick witted.

​​
