LVLT announces open auditions for “Four Old Broads on the High Seas”

Audition Dates: In-person auditions will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024 and Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 6:30pm

​

Location: Las Vegas Little Theatre 3920 Schiff Dr. Las Vegas, NV, 89103

​

Performance Dates: January 17 – February 2, 2025 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm, and Saturday Matinees on January 25 & February 1 at 2pm. Rehearsals begin immediately and are held in the evenings on weekdays and some weekend afternoons.

​

Show Description: Four dear friends head out on a Sassy Senior’s cruise to the Bahamas. Beatrice is determined to have her pick of ALL the eligible men on the ship... but Maude, fresh from her win at The Miss Magnolia Senior Citizen Pageant, plans on being her biggest competition. Wedding bells are ringing for Sam and Imogene... maybe. And Eaddy... well... she just wants to know what all the fuss is about up on the topless sun deck. Throw in a murder mystery, a fabulous drag queen and a crazy costume party, and you’re in for a laugh-a-minute, side-splitting laugh-out-loud night of fun.

Character Descriptions:

​

Beatrice Shelton (50s or older)

Bawdy former burlesque dancer, she has a foul mouth, a dirtier mind, and a heart of gold. She clashes often with Eaddy, but they are still best friends.

Eaddy Mae Clayton (50s or older)

Desperately religious, she is a bit naive, a bit repressed,   she is often appalled by Beatrice, but loves her anyway.

Maude Jenkins (50s or older)

Dingbat and wannabe beauty queen, she's kind of ditzy, but in a lovable way.

Imogene Fletcher (50s or older)

Sassy and bold, she is probably the most grounded of the group, though this isn't a high bar. Madly in love with and engaged to Sam.

Sam Smith (50s or older)

Former Elvis impersonator and reformed ladies' man, he is engaged to Imogene.

Herbert (50-60s)

Slick and overly tanned villain who preys on lonely women. 

Captain Sheldon Sterling (50-60s)

Dashing ship's captain, charming and in charge.

Steven Dupree/Miss Tequila Mockingbird (20-40s)

Baggage porter by day, drag queen entertainer by night. (Please note: he is not necessarily a good drag queen.)

Jim Rockstone/Melvin Trickle

Bumbling ship's detective

Horace Bumpus (60s or older)

Rickety and browbeaten husband of Edna

Edna Bumpus (60s or older)

Rickety and hard-of-hearing wife of Horace

All roles are available. You should be prepared for cold readings from the script.
