LVLT announces open auditions for "Not From Around Here" by Jennifer Goff and Brian Scruggs

Audition Dates and Times: In-person auditions will take place at Las Vegas Little Theatre on Monday, March 25th & Tuesday, March 26th at 6:30pm.  Possible Callbacks will be on Monday, April 1st.

 

Performance Dates: May 17-26, 2024 with eight (8) total performances: Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm and Saturdays & Sundays at 2pm.

 

Show Description: The Smiths and the Joneses have lived side by side in their cozy neighborhood for almost ten years. They’ve become the best of friends (and their kids have become a little something more). But as Greg and Judy graduate from high school, it turns out to be a time of transition for them all. The Joneses face a sudden move that will take them far, far away, putting a bit of a snag in Greg’s plans for college, not to mention his plans for Judy! But it turns out that the Smiths have some secrets of their own.

 

Directives: **Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script.** Headshots and resumes are accepted but are not required.

Roles: All roles are available. See character descriptions below:

 

  • George Smith - 40s - a reporter for the local newspaper, a fitness nut. He is outgoing and quick with a joke (a deep cover FBI  agent tasked with investigating a possible alien incursion).

  • Jane Smith - 40s - a fastidious stay-at-home wife and mother, president of the PTA and pretty much every other committee (a deep cover FBI agent tasked with investigating a possible alien incursion).

  • Judy Smith - 18 - their daughter. Her hormones are revving and she is eager to get out form under her parents’ thumb (not associated with the FBI in any way). Intimacy requirement with the character of Greg.

  • Mrs. Crabtree - 60s - a retired librarian and 4x widow (No funny business - just bad luck). She loves puzzles and games and her neighbors.

  • Carol Jones - 40s - a stay-at-home wife and mother with a killer lemon square recipe (also the commander of a research mission to Earth form the planet Xerthoria).

  • Mike Jones - 40s - a traveling salesman, car guy, and all-around technology nerd (also the technology officer seeding technological advancements to investors all over the world and Carol’s second in command).

  • Greg Jones - 18 - their son. A romantic idealist, and a pretty smart kid (along for the ride on this mission, and not thrilled about it). Intimacy requirement with the character of Judy.
